Room for everyone who comes along

A finca for the whole family has to do more than look beautiful. On every visit we check whether there is a ground-floor bedroom for grandparents, whether the children's rooms sit close together, how far the pool is from the terrace, whether the garden is enclosed and whether the kitchen copes when ten people sit down to supper. A guest house or a second, self-contained wing is often the answer when two families travel together.

The fincas in this collection lie mostly in rural Mallorca, between Santa Maria, Sineu and Artà, in the Tramuntana valleys near Sóller and Pollença and in the south-east around Santanyí, with a further group in Ibiza's green interior around Santa Gertrudis and San Juan. Many come with old stone walls, almond and olive trees, a table-tennis table or a lawn for games, sometimes a trampoline, and a number of them welcome pets.

The practical matters are settled before you arrive: a cot and high chair, a babysitter for an evening out, a private chef for the family dinner or a hire car fitted with child seats. Concierge services are charged separately. Florian Settele lives in Mallorca with his wife and child and knows what a family holiday depends on. Tell us the ages and number of those travelling and we will propose houses that fit.

Frequently asked questions

How many people can a family finca sleep?

It depends on the house. Filter the villa search by bedrooms and number of guests, or simply describe your party to us and we will suggest fincas whose layout of bedrooms and bathrooms suits it.

Are cots and high chairs available?

In many fincas, yes, sometimes for a small charge. What is on site is listed under the villa's features; anything missing we arrange before your arrival.

Are the pools safe for children?

Not every pool is fenced. Whether a house has a pool fence, a cover, a shallow entry or a pool within sight of the terrace is described on its page, and we will tell you which fincas we recommend for families with small children.

Are pets allowed?

In some fincas, yes, usually on request and with a cleaning charge. Use the pets filter or tell us who is travelling with you, and we will clear it with the owner.
