Ibiza Southeast at a glance

Salt, light and the shortest distances

The south-east of Ibiza is flat, bright and salty. The salt pans of Ses Salines, worked since antiquity, lie within a natural park that extends to Formentera; between them are dunes, pines, flamingos in winter and two of the island's best-known beaches, Las Salinas and Es Cavallet. Playa d'en Bossa, with its large beach clubs and nightclubs, is a few minutes to the north; the Phoenician settlement of Sa Caleta, with its red cliffs, a few minutes to the west.

Villas here stand between Sant Jordi, Sant Francesc and the salt pans, often looking across the shallow basins to the sea, in the hills above Playa d'en Bossa and at Cap des Falcó with a view of Formentera. Typical are modern houses with large pools and terraces set to catch the evening light over the salt flats, along with a few fincas inland. Those who want the beach by day and the clubs by night have the shortest distances here.

The airport is five to fifteen minutes away, closer than anywhere else on the island. Flight paths and positions differ from house to house, and we will tell you honestly where aircraft can be heard and where they cannot. Ibiza Town is ten minutes away, as is the harbour for the Formentera ferry. Florian Settele lived in Ibiza for five years and knows these houses in person; ask him and we will come back to you as quickly as we can.

Frequently asked questions

How far is the airport from the south-east?

Five to fifteen minutes, the shortest transfer on the island. Ask us about a house's position relative to the flight path and we will answer honestly for each one.

Which beaches are in the south-east?

Las Salinas with its beach clubs and Es Cavallet, partly naturist, lie within the natural park; Playa d'en Bossa is the long beach with music; Sa Caleta and Es Codolar are quiet pebble beaches beneath red cliffs.

Can you hear the clubs at Playa d'en Bossa?

Playa d'en Bossa is lively late into the night in summer; the villas near the salt pans and at Cap des Falcó lie further off. We know every house and will tell you plainly what you will hear there.

What is the minimum stay?

In July and August usually a week. The villa's calendar shows the minimum stay for your dates; outside high season we are glad to ask the owner about shorter stays.
