Ibiza City at a glance
The town in view, the quiet at home
Ibiza Town, Eivissa in Catalan, is small yet has the fullest programme on the island. The fortified upper town of Dalt Vila, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1999, rises above the harbour; below lie the lanes of La Marina and Sa Penya, and across the water the marinas of Botafoch and Marina Ibiza with their waterside restaurants. In the evening comes the nightlife for which the island is famous; by day there are boutiques, markets, ferries to Formentera and the beach at Talamanca.
Villas close to town lie chiefly in the hills of Jesús and Cap Martinet, looking over Talamanca and Dalt Vila, in Can Pep Simó, towards Roca Llisa by the golf course and along the bay towards Cala Llonga. Typical are modern houses with wide terraces, an infinity pool and a view of the floodlit old town after dark, alongside converted fincas in the fields behind Jesús. The airport is ten to fifteen minutes away, and the town the same by taxi.
Living here, you need no car in the evening: a taxi, or a driver we can arrange at an additional charge, takes you to the old town, to the restaurants on the harbour or to the clubs, and the way home is short. By day, Playa d'en Bossa, Las Salinas and Es Cavallet are 15 to 20 minutes away, and the Formentera ferry leaves from the harbour. Florian Settele lived in Ibiza for five years and knows the houses around the town in person; he will tell you where you can still hear the town and where you are undisturbed.
Frequently asked questions
How far is the airport from Ibiza Town?
Ten to fifteen minutes to Jesús, Talamanca or Cap Martinet. A transfer can be arranged on request.
Which beaches are near the town?
Talamanca lies right beside the town, shallow and calm, with restaurants on the water. Figueretes is the town beach to the south, Playa d'en Bossa with its beach clubs is ten minutes away, and Las Salinas and Es Cavallet in the natural park around 20 minutes.
How noisy is it near the town?
In Dalt Vila and around the harbour, summer evenings run late. The villas in Jesús, Cap Martinet or Can Pep Simó sit above the town and are markedly quieter; we will tell you honestly, house by house, what you will hear.
What is the minimum stay?
In July and August usually a week, often Saturday to Saturday; outside high season shorter stays are more often possible. The villa's calendar shows the minimum stay for your dates.
