Uber Boat Has Arrived in Ibiza: Here's What It Means for Visitors

Uber Boat Ibiza launched in July 2026. We explain how the service works, which boats are available and how it compares to a private yacht charter.

Uber Boat Ibiza has been available on the island since July 2026. The new service allows visitors to book private boat trips directly through the Uber app, no platform switching, no separate account needed. But what exactly is Uber Boat by Click&Boat and is it worth it?

What Is Uber Boat Ibiza?

Uber Boat by Click&Boat is a partnership between Uber and Click&Boat, Europe's largest boat rental platform. Anyone who already has the Uber app on their phone can now also book boat trips through it. The boats themselves are operated by local charter companies through Click&Boat; Uber acts as the booking channel, not as a boat provider.

The service launched on 9 July 2026 simultaneously in Ibiza, Lisbon and the Côte d'Azur. Uber plans to expand the offering to more than 20 destinations, including Mallorca, Barcelona and Valencia.

How Does Booking Work?

Booking runs entirely through the existing Uber app. Users select a date, time and boat size, pay directly in the app and are matched with a verified skipper. No boat licence is required; booking a boat with a skipper in Ibiza has never been more straightforward.

Prices vary depending on boat size, season and trip length. Ibiza is one of Spain's most expensive charter markets, which is likely to be reflected in Uber Boat pricing.

Which Boats and Routes Are Available?

The offering covers a range of boat types: from smaller motorboats for couples and small groups to larger vessels for up to 10 or 12 passengers. Typical routes cover the most popular spots on the west coast: Cala Conta, Cala Bassa, Cala Tarida and the waters around Es Vedrà. Depending on the provider and vessel, trips along the west coast or towards Formentera may also be available.

Standardised providers focus on the most popular routes. Hidden coves like Atlantis or secluded anchorages in the north of the island can usually only be reached through individually planned charters.

Who Is Uber Boat Ibiza Right For?

The service suits visitors who want to book a boat trip quickly and without hassle. Anyone already using the Uber app who wants to rent a boat in Ibiza spontaneously or book a boat charter in Ibiza without research will find this a simple and secure starting point.

Who Uber Boat is less suited for: anyone looking for a tailored boat trip with a specific route, catering or music on board, or a genuinely private experience for a larger group will quickly reach the limits of a standardised app solution.

Uber Boat vs. Private Boat Charter Ibiza

The key difference is depth of experience. Uber Boat Ibiza is built around convenience: quick to book, familiar platform, no research required. A private boat charter Ibiza, of the kind The Balearian arranges for its guests, is built around the individual: your own route, your own group, your own schedule. Coves that no standard provider visits, catering prepared specifically for you, a skipper who genuinely knows the island.

For a spontaneous day out, Uber Boat can be a practical option. For an unforgettable evening off Es Vedrà, a private sunset tour or a full day on the water, a personally organised yacht charter Ibiza is the better choice.

And What About Mallorca?

According to Uber, the service is set to expand to Mallorca in the near future. For anyone already looking for private boat experiences in Mallorca, there is already a strong selection of individual charter options available, from the west coast around Port d'Andratx to the secluded coves of the northeast.

Final Thoughts

Uber Boat Ibiza offers an easy starting point for anyone who wants to spontaneously book a boat trip in Ibiza: familiar app, no research required. For anyone who wants to make more of their time on the water, a standardised solution will quickly feel limiting. Anyone looking for an individually planned boat trip with personal service will find tailored charters on Ibiza and Mallorca through The Balearian, built around their own wishes, with no fixed routes.
